Solutions for Analog Mapping

Analog Mapping

Printing technology has caused revolutionary changes in the printing industry in the 1990s with more computer control, newer printers, etc. Designing maps requires careful planning to accommodate sophisticated printing technology, and needs to work closely with a service bureau to successfully reach design goals. We cannot adequately approach a design task without at least an elementary knowledge of how maps are printed out after they leave the office, and this requires some background information on printing technology.

Because map production and reproduction play an important role in the overall design process, you will be introduced in this unit to the analogue mapping characteristics and needs.
